Research Interests

Microarray technologies and changes of gene expression profiles of crops under various stress conditions.

Improvement of crops by genetic transformation technologies.

Physiological, biochemical and enzymatic changes of crop plants (chickpea, lentil, wheat) at various stress conditions (osmotic stress, salinity, drought, boron stress).

Physiological and biochemical analysis of genetically modified plants.

Professional Skills

Plant (chickpea, tobacco) tissue culture and genetic transformation via Agrobacterium tumefaciens.

Isolation, preparation and analysis of DNA (PCR)

Characterization of SOD isoenzymes, determination of changes at SOD isoenzyme patterns under stress conditions, and activity staining of SOD isoenzymes.

Determination of changes at chlorophyll contents and PS-II activities.

Qualitative and quantitative analysis of proteins by colorimetric methods, kinetic analysis of enzymes, quantification of osmoprotectants (proline), 1D and 2D polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, agarose gel electrophoresis.
